Alan Douglas Johnson, age 56, went to his Heavenly home on Saturday, September 13, 2025 after a courageous battle with Leukemia all while being surrounded by friend, family, and those who loved him. He was truly ready to meet the Lord.

Alan was born on November 19, 1968 in Burke County, North Carolina to Douglas Johnson and Rebecca Craig.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Rebecca Miller Craig and husband Kennith; father, Douglas Johnson and wife Barbara; sister, Alisha Jones and husband Paul; nephew, Corbin Jones; numerous cousins; and a host of friends.

Alan was the strongest person anyone knew, and he had the most caring heart of anyone in town. Alan would do anything for anyone. He helped volunteer to visit with those who are unable to leave their homes. He attended North Catawba Baptist Church where he was well known. Alan loved people, and he truly loved visiting with them and spending time with anyone. He was a people person, and he never let anything get him down. Alan loved sports. He rooted for the Tennessee Vols. He helped out with the East Burke High School Football team. He also loved to play golf and basketball, as well as bowling.

A funeral service to honor the life of Alan Douglas Johnson will be held on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 at 2pm at North Catawba Baptist Church with Reverends David Brown, John Barnhardt, and Stuart White officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Combs, Eric South, Marty Hart, Ricky McCrosky, Stacy Deal, and Chris Miller.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Helton, Jeff Miller, Kyle Miller, Dale Vance, Earl Speagle, Randy Williams, Shawn Lail, and Wayne Barnwell.

While flowers are appreciated, donations can be made to State Employees Credit Union Family House, North Catawba Baptist Church, and Amorem Hospice.
