Albert Washburn Ripley, age 70, of Morganton passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born March 12, 1954 in Franklin County, Massachusetts to the late Robert Ripley, Jr. and Jessie May Hensel Ripley.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, John Ripley; one daughter, Christina Ripley; one brother, Robert Ripley III; two sisters, Melanie Hawks, and Flora Kay Swanson; six grandchildren, Damion Ripley (Madison), Wesley Myles (Cecilia); Devyn Sterkel, Venys Sterkel, Amber Ibarra (Leon), and Kallie Ripley; and three great-grandchildren, Cayden Myles, Elila Ibarra, and Ryder Ripley.

Memorial services will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. William Redner. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
