Obituary

Aubrey Lee Davis, age 91, of Lenoir, North Carolina went home to rejoice with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 2nd, 2024.

Aubrey was born on June 10, 1933 to the late James P. Davis and Gertrude Kline Davis in Randolph County, West Virginia.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Dora Davis; son, James Perry Davis; step-daughters, Shelley Miller and Phylis Debord; brothers, Denver, Ronald and Almer; and sisters, Ilene and Eleva.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Wilma Jean; daughter, Quaneita McAtee and husband Mike; step-daughters, Marsha Gilliam and husband Clark and Elaine Debord Orth; grandchildren, Collin McAtee and Sasha McCoy; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and beloved friends and family members.

Aubrey served proudly in the United States Army.  Most importantly he was a man of God and a dedicated Christian who loved to play music.  Gospel and County was his primary choices of music.  He could play just about any string instrument there was.  He would often go to several nursing homes to play where he brought joy to so many others.  He also loved to play at Joyceton Baptist Church where he was a member.  He loved treasure hunting.  He took his metal detector anywhere and everywhere often finding great trinkets.  He also enjoyed panning for gold and was always ready for a good game of horseshoes.

A graveside service to honor the memory of Aubrey Davis will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 11 AM at Miller Winkler Cemetery in Lenoir, North Carolina with Reverend Johnny McNeil officiating.

The cemetery may be accessed by turning onto Thad Miller Road which goes into Charlotte Lane.

Military honors will b e provided by the Caldwell County Honor Guard.
