Avis Marley Herman, age 90, of Granite Falls, North Carolina entered her Heavenly home on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Avis was born on April 18, 1936 in Wilkes County, North Carolina to the late Charlie and Hattie Triplett.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Junior Marley; her husband Harrill Herman; and her brother, Ray Triplett.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Larry Marley and wife Wanda; sister, Sue McLean and husband Larry; two grandchildren, Chad Marley and wife Terrie and Kevin Marley and wife Amanda; and six great grandchildren, Trigg, MaKenna, Kade, Isaiah, Jacob, and Ryker Marley.

Avis was an avid gardener. She loved to be outdoors and to tend to her vegetable and flower gardens. She was always active. She loved the Lord with all her heart, and was a member of Refuge Missionary Baptist Church in Hudson, NC. Avis lived a good and long life full of love and devotion, as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a very giving woman. She would help anyone who was in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service to honor the life of Avis Marley Herman will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00PM with Pastor Larry Marley and Pastor Darren Peterson officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home.

Burial will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Marley, Kevin Marley, Trigg Marley, Kade Marley, Isaiah Marley, and Tim Smith. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Marley.

Donations may be made in Avis' honor to Amorem Hospice.
