Barbara J. Woods Secreast, age 89, of Lenoir entered her heavenly home in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She was born July 28, 1934 in Caldwell County to the late Walter G. Woods and Otie Mae Setzer Woods. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Daniel Secreast; one daughter, Jacqueline Secreast Roberts; one brother, Doug Clarence Woods; three sisters, Willa Dean Woods Johnson; Doris Woods Pope, and Marilyn Woods Smith; and one son-in-law, Greer Moore.

Mrs. Secreast was a faithful and lifelong member of Whitnel First Baptist Church and was very active in many committees within the church, among her favorites was being a member of the choir. She was a known for her strong Christian values, her faith, and being a prayer warrior for all. She will be remembered for the unwavering love and devotion she had for her family, friends, church family, and most importantly her Lord and Savior.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Ronald D. Secreast (Yolanda), of Lenoir; two daughters, Debra Moore, and Nancy Garnes (Ronnie), all of Lenoir; son-in-law, Randy Roberts of Lenoir; two brothers, Max Woods (Geraldine), and Travis Woods (Geneva), all of Lenoir; one sister, Betty Witherspoon (Jerry) of Granite Falls; one sister-in-law, Carlene Woods of Lenoir; five beloved grandchildren, Kimberly Philyaw, Leslie Williams (Tommy), Mandy Arney (Greg), Danielle Clark (Raymond), and Joey Garnes (Mallory); seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Whitnel First Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Stuart White officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Garnes, Tanner Philyaw, Matthew Arney, Gunnar Williams, Tommy Williams, and Randy Roberts.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Whitnel First Baptist Church, 1201 Connelly Springs Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645; or Amorem Hospice, 902 Kirkwood St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
