Beatrice (Bea) Burch Helton, 90 of Lenoir, NC entered eternal rest on April 29, 2026 at Amorem Hospice of Hudson.

Bea was born August 28, 1935 to the late Tom and Lucille Holder Burch in Eureka, Montana.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Burch and Jerry Burch; six sisters, Jean Lambert, Helen Knight, Rosella Roberts Bond, Thelma Ness, Patricia Chalcraft and Carol Pinson; and one son, Charles Thomas Helton.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 71 years, Gene Helton; one son, Roger Helton;  three daughters, Linda Robbins (Steve),  Deborah Alcorn (Ken), and Mary Clemons (Wayne); 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Bea worked for Caldwell County Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1995 and Blue Ridge Community Action for 23 years, retiring in 2018.

Bea was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Lenoir, NC.

A funeral service to honor Bea Helton's life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 2PM at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Baker officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1PM until 2PM at the funeral home.

Burial at Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery will immediately follow the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Thomas Helton, Andrew Coffey, Darren Alcorn, Brian Robbins, Dominick Perkins, and Derek Perkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bea's name to Amorem Hospice.
