Benson Howard Coffey, age 71, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. He was born September 27, 1951 in Caldwell County to the late Lester D. Coffey and Grace Bennett Coffey. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Estie Loretta Smith; one brother, Donald Odell Coffey, Sr.; and one brother-in-law, Tallie Smith.

Mr. Coffey was a faithful member of Zack's Fork Baptist Church where he served as a deacon since 1973. He was the proud owner of Coffey's Produce for 37 years and he also worked at Lenoir Mirror Company for 18 years prior to going into the produce business.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Teena Helms Coffey, of the home; his daughter and the joy of his life, Stella Coffey January and husband Matthew; one brother, Lloyd Everette Coffey of Taylorsville; two special brothers-in-law, Gordon Helms and Buck Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Zack's Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chad Baldwin officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gordon Helms, Buck Harrison, Calvin Harrison, Grayson Helms, Don Coffey, and Robbie Clonch.
