Betty Abernethy, 83, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

She is preceded in death by her parents Guy and Elsie, her husband Ben, son Tracy, and great grand-daughter Faith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Diana Pearson (Roger), Ben Abernethy Jr. (Jackie), Kristie Vick (Johnny), and Karen Parsons (Freddy Sigmon), 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

She touched many lives through her work in the textile industry, her work in the daycare, and her work with Christian Ministries.

Per her wises, the memorial service will be private.

Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
