Betty "Jean" Mikeal Effler, age 82, of Lenoir passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Amorem Hospice. She was born August 14, 1941 in Caldwell County to the late Ben Mikeal and Lillie Richards Mikeal. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Effler; one son, Robert Effler; and one grandson, Nathan Harris.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jeanne Dawn Harris of Lenoir; two sisters, Mary Hartley and husband Dennis and Sherry Messer, all of Lenoir; one sister-in-law, Pat Webb of Lawndale; two grandchildren, Amber Harris and Heather Effler; four great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 5, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.
