Billy "Russell" Gragg, age 82, of Lenoir passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1941 in Caldwell County to the late Lester Coy Gragg and Julia Bolick Gragg. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Dinky Hamby Gragg; and two sisters, Mary Johnson and Shirley Coffey.

Mr. Gragg attended Miller Hill Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marie Greene Gragg, of the home; two sons, Billy Ray Gragg of Collettsville and Terry Gragg of Lenoir; one daughter, Clara Helton of Wilkesboro; two step-children, Tammy Eudy and husband Curtis of Monroe, and Brent Phillips and significant other Nikki of Lenoir; four brothers, Troy Gragg and wife Kay of Millers Creek, Jerry Gragg and wife Ruth of Wilkesboro, Randy Gragg and wife Ruth of Collettsville, and Richard Gragg and wife Phyllis of Collettsville; four sisters, Martha Hartley, Patricia Murphy and husband Carl, Caroline Woody and husband Clyde, and Vickie Ford and husband Larry, all of Collettsville; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Parker officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Globe Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be members of the family.
