Brenda Lee Coffey Sheppard, age 62, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

Brenda was born on May 26, 1964 in Catawba County, North Carolina to the late Roy Lee and Judy Fay Coffey.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 45 years, James Sheppard; daughter, Jessica Sheppard (Derek Shortt); brothers, Billy Ray Coffey (Donna) and Jerry Franklin Coffey; and grandchildren, Myra Branham, Tyler Sheppard, Ryan Sheppard, and Zyla Shortt.

Brenda leaves behind a legacy of love. She always showed up for her family, no matter the time of day or night. She would always take a call from her loved ones. She was always there with open arms, and she loved her grandchildren as if they were her own. Brenda was a fighter. She fought her illness for many years, and it brings her family comfort to know that she is not struggling anymore. Her battle has been won, and she can rest. Brenda is gone, but she will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life to honor the life of Brenda Sheppard will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 2:00PM at Blue Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Brady Adkins officiating.
