Brenda Goodson Mathas, age 82, of Lenoir, North Carolina arrived at her heavenly home on August 30, 2024.

Brenda was born in Catawba County, North Carolina on May 17, 1942 to the late Gaither and Elizabeth Goodson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel "Dan" Mathas; daughter, Kim Avery; sister, Jeanola Jones, and brother in law, Donald Jones.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Rhonda Lingle (Jeff); Grandchild, Casey Mahoney (Angela); great-grandchildren, Abigail Mahoney, Bethany Mahoney, Eli Mahoney, and McKenzie Mahoney; niece, Brandi Lingle (Jayden); and grand-niece, Kadence Lingle.

Brenda was a farmer who loved the outdoors. She loved all animals, big and small. Brenda was a homebody, but she loved going to her church Center Grove Baptist and volunteering with the food bank. She loved her grandchildren and family very much. Brenda was well loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service to honor the life of Brenda Mathas will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Center Grove Baptist Church at 2pm with Reverend Chris Helderman officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1pm to 2pm at the church.

Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.
