Brenda James Smith, age 57, of Granite Falls passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at her home.

Born July 7, 1965, in Caldwell County, Brenda was the daughter of Linda Byerly and the late Clifford Marion James.  Brenda enjoyed sewing and was known for helping others.  What she enjoyed most was spending time with her children and grandchildren.  In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a son, Levi Snyder.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Bobby Smith; three sons, Josh Tallent (wife Ashley), Justin Tallent (wife Chrystal) and Dustin Snyder; two brothers, Mickey James (wife Laurie) and Jeffrey James; three grandchildren, Mia Tallent, Aurora Tallent and Liam Snyder; she is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A celebration of Brenda's life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 3:00PM at the Cornerstone Covenant Church with Pastor Danny Honeycutt officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.

The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
