Brett James "Maverick" Worth, age 63, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Amorem Hospice. He was born February 20, 1960 in Riverhead, New York to the late Edward and Shirley Jean Penny Worth. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Scott Worth and Michael Worth.

Those left to cherish his memory include his long-time partner, Candace Richey of the home; three sons, Lee Worth and wife Destiny, Jack Worth, all of Lenoir, and Ryan Walton of Jacksonville, NC; four daughters, Jessica Denton and husband Josh of Valdese, Jamie Bader and husband Ryan of Boone, Sarah Worth of Icard, and Letisha Walton of Louisiana; three brothers, Ed Worth and wife Shannon of New York, George Worth and wife Debbie of New York, and Larry Worth and wife Sandy of Florida; twenty-five beloved grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
