Carmen Regina Golds Smith, age 65, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Grace Hospital.
Regina was born on March 16, 1959 to the late Lenzy and Loretta Poarch Golds in Burke County, North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sisters, Wendy Wilson and Rena Courtney, and brother, Mike Golds.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Thomas Smith of the home; sisters, Valerie Golds of Morganton, NC, and Kimberly Jackson and husband David and son Andrew, all of Vale, NC; two nephews, Melvin Wilson and Travis Bostian and wife Destiny all of Morganton, NC; and two nieces, Mindy Stecewicz, and Mackenzie Bostian and fiancé Mark Adams, all of Morganton, NC.
Regina loved sitting in her sun room. There she watched the birds and gazed at her prized flowers for hours. Keeping the bird feeder filled was an absolute necessity. Regina loved her family very much, and she was very proud of them. Regina's faith and her preacher, Steve Parker, were very important in her life. Regina will be remembered for her love of people and for her beautiful laugh.
A funeral service to honor the life of Regina Smith will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 2pm at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Steve Parker officiating.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1pm until 2pm at the funeral home.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
