Carolyn Marlene Hatton, age 78, of Boomer passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at her residence. She was born March 22, 1948 in Caldwell County to the late Thomas Hatton and Connielee Auton Hatton. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one brother, Jerry L. Hatton and wife Darlene R. Hatton.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Crystal Thompson and husband Sonny and Michelle Walker and husband T.J.; one brother, Mike Hatton and wife Teresa; six grandchildren, Derek Cook (Emily), Cassandra Cook (Nathan), Chelsea Auton, Adyson Walker, Pfc. Dylan Auton (Leah), and Landon Auton; five great-grandchildren, Kaylee Frazier, Bentley Cook, Jason Burchette, Isabella Benfield, and Joanna Smithey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Adam Hatton officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Auton-Hatton Family Cemetery of Boomer.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Marc Jardon, Steven Moore, Michael Francum, Thomas Branch, Lee Branch, and Christopher Branch.
