Charles Richard Lail, age 80, of Lenoir, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 in his home surrounded by family and friends.

Charles was born on January 18, 1944 to the late Carrol and Helen Lail in Marlboro County, South Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Delma Lail.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Rick Lail; brother, Gary Lail; sister, Debbie Estes; grandchild, Bailey Lail (Morgan); and special friend, Simone Williams.

Charles was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church his entire life. After high school, he immediately joined his family's business in automotive sales. Charles loved life, and he lived it large. He enjoyed running in his spare time and was very physically fit and active. Most importantly, Charles loved his friends and family very much.

A funeral service to honor the life of Charles will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 2pm at St. Stephens Lutheran Church with Reverend Dan Duke officiating.

The family will receive visitors at the church one hour prior to the service from 1pm-2pm.

Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Carolina Caring Hospice.
