Charles Lambert Sparks, Sr. age 88, of Hudson, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Charles was born on April 13, 1938 in Avery County, North Carolina to the late Sam and Nelia Sparks.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Browning Sparks; son, Jimmy Sparks; daughter, Joann Walsh; and 14 brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Johnny Sparks (Doris) and Charlie Sparks, Jr.; grandchildren, Tawana Sparks, Amber Sparks, Jessica Anderson, and Milo Lowman; great-grandchildren, Logan Sparks, Dakota Sparks, Chance Stewart, and Breanna Anderson; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Charles was a faithful member of Covenant Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Mission Team as well. Charles was always willing to assist the team in building homes for those in need. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Covenant Baptist Church beginning at 5:00PM.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Covenant Baptist Church at 1:00PM with Reverend Tony Greer officiating.

Burial will immediately follow the service at Boone Fork Community Cemetery.
