Christopher Eric Carpenter, age 37, of Hickory, North Carolina, passed away at home on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

Eric was born on December 30, 1987 to Anita Seymour Berry and the late Christopher Scott Carpenter in Caldwell County, North Carolina.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Cameron Todd Carpenter and paternal grandparents, John Dall Carpenter and wife Willa Jean Carpenter.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Cora Belle Carpenter of Surfside, South Carolina; mother, Anita Seymour Berry and husband Keith of Lenoir, North Carolina; fiancé, Lori Jenkins of Hickory, North Carolina; step-brother, Keith Allan Berry Jr. and wife Katy of Hudson, North Carolina; step-sister, Miranda Karen Berry of Nebo, North Carolina; aunt, Reba Andrews, her daughter Stephanie and family of Hudson, North Carolina; maternal grandparents, Roger Lee Seymour and wife Dixie of Chilhowie, Virginia and Beverly Combs Williams and husband Terry of Lenoir; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Eric was dearly loved. He will be remembered for his kind heart and sparkling personality. Eric would do anything for anyone and he would give anyone anything he had if they needed it. He took care of his grandfather for several years when he was ill and took him to church every Sunday. Eric loved his daughter dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Zion's building fund.

A memorial service to honor the life of Christopher Eric Carpenter will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00pm with Jason Hines officiating.
