Claude Junior Billings, age 82, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on December 15th, 2024.

Claude was born on June 11th, 1942 to the late Claude W. Billings and Mary Rash Billings in Wilkes County, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by Phyllis Billings, who he was married to for 42 years; son, Mark Allen Billings; brothers, Allen Billings and Larry Billings; and sister, Leeann Billings.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Sarah Billings (fiancée Jackie Mayo) and Jennifer Wright (husband Jerry); brothers, Dennis Billings (wife Patricia), Ervin Billings (wife Kathy), Thomas "Dwayne" Billings (wife Norma); sisters, Bronda Jones, Connie Byrd (husband David), and Claudine Hamby; grandchildren, Lindsey Cornwell, Chafin Cornwell, Heather Wright, and Brooke Wright; great-grandchild, Amelia Hall, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Claude was a loving father and grandfather. He cherished his family. Claude was a member of Harvest Church in Hudson, North Carolina. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and general outdoorsman. He had a green thumb and grew muscadines and blueberries. In fact, he was always outside and was an accomplished craftsman. He worked for Nacco, Century Manufacturing, and Henredon as well as a few others. Claude was cherished by his family and always will be.

A funeral service for Claude will be held on Saturday, December 21st, 2024 at 2:00PM at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with David Jones officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at the funeral home.

Burial at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens will take place immediately following the service.

Donations may be made to Amorem Hospice and Palliative Care in honor of Claude.
