Obituary

Cleveland Daniel Locklear, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 28, 2025 at the age of 83. He was born on May 6, 1941 in Marlboro County, South Carolina to the late Wade Parrish and Geneva Locklear. He was a humble and selfless soul who deeply loved his family. Cleve loved working with his hands, coon hunting, riding horses and motorcycles, playing guitar and singing in church. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He spent most of his life as a wood carver in Caldwell County. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Lou and Margaret Ann; and brother Willie Locklear.

Cleve is survived by his children, Tonya Chester (Eddie), Leslie Bishop (Tommy), and Cleveland Locklear Jr (Kim); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; Sisters, Nancy Jane (Richard) Hunt, Agnes (Terry) Miller and many other dear friends and family.

Funeral service will be held Saturday April 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM with receiving one hour prior 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Rock Creek Church. Burial will follow in the Rock Creek Baptist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions to Rock Creek Church, 1250 Shew Hollar Road, Lenoir, NC  28645.
