Mr. Clyde Franklin Church, age 88, of Hudson passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025 at his home.

Born August 22, 1936 in Caldwell County, Clyde was a son of the late Odell and Pearl Church.  Clyde was an avid Tar Heels fan.  He enjoyed old cars and was a member of the Lenoir Cruisers.  Clyde was a former EMT with Hudson Rescue Squad.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Eula Church; a grandson, TJ Lewis; a sister, Blanche Harris; brothers, Mayfield Church, Alfred Church, Harold Church and Bryant Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Tina Slaughter (Tim Call), Terrie Cook (Ron) and Patti Proctor; a brother, Claude Church (Lucille); sisters, Yvonne Noblett, Bonnie Miles (Danny) and Laura Huffman; grandchildren, Marcia Kinley (Dustin), Brett Slaughter and Brooke Slaughter Jarrett (Josh); he is also survived by nine great grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

A celebration of Clyde's life will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Booth officiating.  Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
