Daniel Alan Mitchell, age 59, of Granite Falls, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on January 8th, 2025 after courageously fighting a battle with cancer.

Daniel was born on January 20th, 1965 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Daniel Ernest Mitchell and Shirley Ann Stacy Mitchell.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Clarice Stacy, and brother, Jessie Calvin Mitchell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Kenneth Michael Mitchell (Karen); sister, Victoria Mitchell Gillum (Jody); nieces, Bryttani Gillum Teague (Jimmy), Amber Hoppins (Jordan); and Brooklyn Mitchell (Seth); nephews, Joseph Gillum (Cady), Joshua Mitchell (Georgie), and Jacob Mitchell (Savannah); great-nieces, Eva Sams, Caroline Mitchell, and Anistyn Teague; and great nephews, Jaxxten Teague, Sutton Teague, Cameron Mitchell and Carter Mitchell.

Daniel loved plants and flowers. He even had his own garden, which was absolutely beautiful. He also loved fish and kept fish tanks. Daniel loved the beach. He also loved his family very much. There was nothing he would not do for his family. Daniel cared so much for others, that after his passing he donated his corneas in order to grant the gift of vision to someone in need. That was just the kind of person he was. Most importantly, Daniel loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a good and faithful servant who attended North Lenoir Church of God. He will be dearly missed.

A memorial service to honor the life of Daniel Alan Mitchell will be held at a later date.
