Dr. David Lee Dill, 78, passed away peacefully in his home on June 26, 2025, after a life defined by quiet strength, selfless service, and unwavering love. David was a man who led not through words, but through actions. He will be remembered for his dry wit, generous heart, and love for his community.

Born in Ocilla, GA, on August 3, 1946, he was a proud alumnus of the University of Georgia. After completing his undergraduate studies at UGA, he attended the Medical College of Georgia.

He married Dianne Richards of Hampton, SC, on July 13, 1974. Following their marriage and his completion of residency in Florida, they moved to Lenoir, NC, where he practiced radiology with Lenoir Radiology Associates for over 30 years.

David was an active member of First United Methodist Church and Cedar Rock Country Club. Never one to turn down the opportunity for an adventure, he loved spending time with family, playing golf, tennis, traveling, and skiing at their second home in Sugar Mountain, NC. However, his favorite activity was always cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs (GO DAWGS).

David leaves behind a legacy of love and deeply rooted connection - for his family, his friends, and his community. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mrs. Dianne Dill; his daughter Lee Anne Cathcart (Phil) of Greensboro, NC; his son Parker Dill (Maggie) of Durham, NC; his grandson Daniel Lee Cathcart of Greensboro, NC; his brother LH Dill (Doris) of Ocilla, GA, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church of Lenoir followed by a celebration of life at Cedar Rock Country Club at 3:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Children's Home Society of North Carolina & First United Methodist Church of Lenoir.
