David Thomas Livingston,79 of Lenoir passed away surrounded by his loving family Monday, January 1, 2024 following a period of declining health.

David was born on November 7, 1944 in Caldwell County to the late John Finley Livingston, Sr. and Maggie White Livingston. He was a graduate of Oak Hill High School Class of 1963. David was a US Marine Corps Veteran and served in Vietnam. Following his father's footsteps, he become a skilled builder and worked and constructed buildings all over Caldwell County. He also served on the Little River Fire Department for over 30 years. David was a wonderful husband, father and "Pop" to his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and was an excellent cook who was known for his famous coleslaw. David was very loved by all who knew him and will be missed dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, John Finley Livingston, Jr.; and sister, Maxine Livingston Weeks.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Ruth Yott Livingston; daughters, Stephanie Livingston, Heather Livingston, and Jessica Livingston Yount (John); grandchildren, Kourtney Pope, Christian Pope, Kenley Yount, and Max Yount; sister, Nancy Livingston McDonald; sister-in-law, Margaret Livingston; and numerous nieces and nephews.0.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Union Baptist Church in Lenoir with Pastor Mark Robinette officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the church.

Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
