David Matthew Townsend made his final curtain call on Friday December 20th 2024.

David made his Broadway Debut into this world on September 28th 1975.  David came into this world with the love of The Wizard of Oz  and  we are positive a pair of ruby red slippers.

David was unapologetically himself and he lived his life as he was always on the stage.

Those who made their final performance prior to David were his parents , Carroll and Margaret Townsend  and a brother Christopher Andrews.

Those who are left to carry on the performance in his memory and honor are a sister, Stacy Johnson, a nephew Alex Richardson and his wife Destiny, David's favorite and only niece Julia Rae Richardson and his grand niece Bean. David leaves two very special friends to direct this performance, John David Brown III and Amy Chester Melton. David also leaves a great niece and three great nephews to lead the chorus.  David also leaves a tribe of women who have been the stage managers, the costumer, the lighting director and the supporting actors of this shit show.. you know who you are!!

There will be a production about David and his life coming soon … watch for the dates and times! We hope all who have loved and supported him in his performance  of life will be there..
