David Allen Townsend, 58, of Lenoir passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

David was born on April 10, 1965 in Caldwell County to Glenn Edwin Townsend and Vera Elaine Hicks Townsend. He was a caring person with a good sense of humor. David loved to hunt, fish and travel. He enjoyed racing, old classic cars, especially his 69' Camaro. He was a loving father, son and brother and will be missed dearly.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Vera Elaine Hicks Townsend.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jessica Rae Townsend; father, Glen Edwin Townsend; brother, Ricky Townsend and wife Cindy; and sister, Glenda Keller; former wife and mother of his daughter, Sabrina Tilley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Norrod officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amorem Hospice at 902 Kirkwood Street, NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
