David Richard Turbyfill, age 74, of Lenoir, North Carolina went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 6, 2025.

David was born on May 17, 1951 in Avery County, North Carolina to the late Raymond and Anna Mae Turbyfill.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jim Turbyfill.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Derick Richard Turbyfill and Michael Allen "Buddy" Turbyfill; daughter, Heather Turbyfill; ex-wife, Ivey Bentley; brothers, Terry Turbyfill, Kenney Turbyfill (Rebecca), Sam Turbyfill (Lisa), and Jerry Turbyfill (Doris); sister-in-law, Eunice Turbyfill; and grandchildren, Cody Turbyfill, Logan Turbyfill, and Canyon Whisnant.

David was a pastor for many years, following in the footsteps of his father and brothers. He was a man of strong faith who loved the Lord. He enjoyed collecting old coins as well as hunting and fishing. David was loved by many and was loved back just as much. He will be dearly missed.

The family will gather with friends on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at 2250 Valway Road, Lenoir NC 28645 to celebrate the life of David, Rev. Grady Adkins will be officiating.
