Doris Marcelle Mangum, 76 of Lenoir passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

Doris was born on December 31, 1947 in Caldwell County to the late Earl Winford Davis, Sr. and Juanita Crump Heaps.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Roland Mangum, Jr; two sons, David Allen Mangum and Timothy Shawn Davis; and a brother, Keith Allen Davis.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Edward Roland Mangum III; daughter, Patricia Pennell (Jonathan); brothers, Edward Davis (Sharon) and Earl Winford Davis, Jr. (Roxanne); sisters, Elaine Dula (Larry), Barbara Soots (Ricky), Debbie Lackey (Lonnie), and Donna Hartley (Wayne); sister-in-law, Dorothy Davis; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Nelson's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Summerlin officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amorem at 902 Kirkwood Street, NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Amorem and her friend and Nurse, Kelly Chapman, for the care and support they showed Doris and her family during her last few years.
