Dwight Earp, Jr., age 75, of Lenoir passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at his residence. He was born January 1, 1949 in Caldwell County to the late Dwight Earp, Sr. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by three grandchildren, Matthew Church, Tiffany Earp, and Justin Hamby.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 36 years, Phyllis Melton Earp, of the home; one son, Chris Church (Wendi) of South Carolina; three daughters, Jennifer Tolbert (Greg) of Morganton, Marsha Benge of Lenoir, and Amy Coffey of Lenoir; one sister, Judy Mikeal of Lenoir; six grandchildren, Michael Griffin, Kristen Tolbert, Seth Church, Kalee Church, Micah Church, Megan Hicks; and three great-grandchildren, Jace Griffin, Justin Griffin, and Edith Laney.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brent Dula officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
