Edgar C. Walker, age 84, of Lenoir passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at his residence. He was born November 2, 1938 in Alabama to the late Houston Walker and Frances Wilson Walker. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Fontene Walker; and one sister, Linda Williams.

Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Edgar C. Walker, II and wife Stacy of Georgia, and Ronald Walker and wife Cindy of Kannapolis; one daughter, Dana Deitz and husband Todd of Kannapolis; significant other, Betty Jo Greene of Lenoir; four sisters, Mavis Wilder, Ann Whitaker and husband Joe, Betty Washburn and husband Charles, Becky Cash and husband Marston, all of Alabama; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel. Military honors will be provided by the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Army.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
