Eleanor Ward Gragg, age 85, of Lenoir passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. She was born April 30, 1940 in Watauga County to the late Lorenzo William Ward and Maude Tester Ward. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by twelve siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 65 years, Howard "Vernon" Gragg, Jr.; two sons, Charles "Chuck" Gragg, and Larry Gragg and wife Shannon; one daughter, Vickie Cannon and husband Terry; two grandsons, Ethan Cannon and fiancée Karson, and Noah Cannon and girlfriend Kirsten; and her faithful companion, her dog Bailey.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
