Elizabeth Beach
Crotts
Sep 12, 1945 — Mar 26, 2024
Elizabeth Beach Crotts passed away peacefully at Hospice on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. At the time of her passing she was 78 years old.
Elizabeth was born on September the 12 of 1945 to the late Clarence Edgar Beach and Grace Link Beach.
She grew up in the Zion United Church of Christ as well as spending summers at Camp Yonahlossee. A proud Bear Cat Lenoir High School class of 1963, and graduate of South Wood College class of 1966 and Snow Queen the same year.
On returning to Lenoir she worked for Broyhill Showroom where she met her late husband Charlie Crotts of 53 years. They had two children, the late David Patrick Crotts and Katharine Crotts Hardy.
Elizabeth taught at Gamewell Elementary, then opened the School For Young Children. She also worked for the Chamber of Commerce, Belk's and Caldwell Friends. On top of all that she did volunteer work for Fort Defiance as a tour guide, Service League as president, Chapel of Rest as wedding coordinator, PTA president and on the Sadies Ladies committee. But where her talents and passion truly lie was Interior Design and Flower Arranging. She had an eye for colors and placement, and loved doing anything from weddings, to parties to just arrangements in her own home.
Elizabeth's personality stood out just as much as her work did. She was loving, compassionate and could make a room bust out laughing. With a quick wit and a wonderful smile she was always the center of attention without trying to be. Elizabeth always knew what people needed, whether a safe place to talk, a helping hand or just a hug.
Elizabeth leaves behind Two Sisters:
Martha Fogleman husband Paul Fogleman
Caroline Bradford husband Gary Bradford
Daughter:
Katharine Crotts Hardy husband John Hardy
Grandson:
Grayson Houck
Elizabeth was many things daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, friend, teacher, counselor, life of the party and so much more....But for me she was my mother, and a damn good one. I loved her dearly and will miss her terribly.
