Ellen Biddix Dugger, age 71, of Lenoir, North Carolina entered her Heavenly home on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Ellen was born on August 17, 1955 in Mitchell County, North Carolina to the late Robert Biddix Jr. and Mattie Carpenter Biddix.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby McKinney and George Biddix; sister, Ivalee Pratt; and two brothers in law, Wesley Gurley and Johnny Ledford.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Charles Sparks (Brian Barlow); daughters, Laura Felder (Drake) and Shelia Hernandez; husband, John Dugger; brothers, Mark Biddix (Joanna) and Allen Biddix (Shirley); sisters, Elaine Lowrey, Mattie Lee Gurley, Debra Linville (Michael), Diane Ledford, Elizabeth Buchanan (Ronnie), and Evelyn Buchanan (Larry); grandchildren, Brittany Collins,Caleb Pearson (Kayla Pittman), Chelsea Pearson (Marty Suddreth), Jamal Felder (Katie McPeters), Joshua Collins, and Makayla Tate; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous other loved ones.

Ellen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was devout in her faith. She has a passion for flowers and birds. Ellen lived on spaghetti and meatballs and black coffee. They were a favorite of hers that her family will continue to enjoy in her memory. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service to honor the life of Ellen Dugger will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 11:00am at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 10am until 11am at the funeral home.

Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
