Fern Phillips Davis, age 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Fern was born on October 4, 1932 in Wilkes County, North Carolina to the late Shober and Kiter Nichols Phillips.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Glen Davis Sr.; son, Joseph Glen Davis Jr.; brothers, Smith Phillips, Morton E. Phillips, Archie Phillips, Arvil Phillips, and Slater C. Phillips; sisters, Ora Lea Phillips Livingston and Ruby Phillips Barus; and granddaughter, Jennifer Lea Davis.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, David D. Davis (Crystal), Jack A. Davis (Debbie), and Bryan N. Davis; daughter, Jill Church (Randy); grandchildren, Nathan Church (Stephanie), Lauren Marley (Dustin), Meredith Calloway (Adam), Emily Davis, and Jonathan Davis; and 7 great grandchildren.

Fern served the Lord as a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved gardening and tending her flowers. She took care of everyone in her life, as she was a natural born caretaker. She had a particular soft spot in her heart for her grandchildren. Fern will be remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord and a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother.

A graveside service to honor the life of Fern Phillips Davis will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at 3:00PM at J.H. Wilson Memorial Cemetery.
