Forrest Gene Coffey, age 85, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1941 in Burke County to the late Robert Coffey and Pauline Honeycutt Coffey. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Jean Coffey; and one brother, Stencil Coffey.

Mr. Coffey enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and singing. He was dearly loved and will be missed deeply.

Those left to cherish his memory include three sons, Forrest Jerome Coffey, Kelly Lee Coffey, and Willie Ray Coffey; one brother, Bobby Coffey; two nieces, Wilma Lukasek and Kim Peterson (Brent); and numerous beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

Funeral Services will be Friday, September 4, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Forrest Coffey, Kelly Coffey, Willie Coffey, Brent Peterson, James Peterson, and Bryan Coffey.
