Gail Parsons Dula passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026 after a courageous five-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on August 17, 1950, in Lenoir, NC to the late Burl Parsons and Ann Scott Parsons.

Gail graduated from Appalachian State University and taught for the Caldwell County School system for 31 years at Hudson Elementary and Middle Schools. She served as a volunteer at Caldwell County Hospice, the Lenoir Soup Kitchen, and the Caldwell County Heritage Museum. She was also a charter member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Rev. Paul Dula of the home; and son, Mark Dula and wife Laurin of Lenoir. She is also survived by two brothers, Ralph Parsons of Nashville, TN and Earl Parsons and wife Susie of Lenoir; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.

The family will receive friends at Greer McElveen Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.  A graveside service will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park conducted by Greg Drum.

In lieu of flowers Gail and her family request donations be made to the McCreary Cancer Center, 212 Mulberry Street SW, Lenoir, NC 28645, who cared for her for over five years.
