Gary Dale Carroll, age 62, of Lenoir passed away at his home on Saturday, July 29, 2023.  Born November 14, 1960 in Caldwell County, Gary was a son of the late Robert and Pauline Shew.  Gary was a hardworking man who loved the Lord, fishing and listening to Johnny Cash.  He will be remembered as a man who loved his family and was loved by all of his family and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Surviving family members include his wife, Amy C. Carroll; four daughters, Dana Bowman (husband Chris), Ashley Laws, Ashley Baker (husband Matt) and Mackenzie Carroll; one brother; eight grandchildren, Isaiah, Dalton, Chase, Jeremiah, Bella, Bennett, Blakely and Brooks; a great grandchild, Daelin; he is also survived by numerous other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Setzer officiating.  Interment will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
