Gary Steven Cozart, age 74, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at his residence. He was born May 30, 1949 in Caldwell County to the late Lester Steven Cozart and Margaret Curtis Cozart. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Lester Cozart.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 20 years, Carrie Coffey Cozart of the home; two sons, Gary Steven Cozart, Jr. of Archdale, Fred Steven Cozart (Karen) of Kings Creek; one step-son, Jeffrey Lane Hamby of Lenoir; one daughter, Margie Cozart Moore (Steven) of Stony Point; one step-daughter, Candie Winebarger of Lenoir; two brothers, Roger Cozart (Glenda) of Hudson, and Scott Cozart (Sarah) of Lenoir; two sisters, Irene Tolbert of Lenoir, and Debbie Richardson (Jack) of Greensboro; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 15, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Sharpe and Rev. Raymond Spann officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.  Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dakota, Hunter, Joe, Matt, Aaron, and Casey.
