Gary Dwayne Foxx, age 62 of Lenoir passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Born June 14, 1963, Gary is the son of Jo Anne Bolick Mitchel and the late Clarence R. Fox. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister Kimberly Necole Cooke, his uncle Charles Lee Bolick, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his mother Jo Anne and step father Robert Mitchell, his brother Charles Foxx and significant other Laura Miller, along with his niece and nephew Owen Foxx and Courtney Starnes, husband Alex Starnes. His aunt Louise Blevins, and his cousin Rick and wife Kelly Coffey. Gary is also survived by his significant other Sabrina Tilley and his own three children and their spouses; Tiffany and Jerry Vancise, Holly and Kevin Allison, and his only son Gary Scott Foxx. In addition to his children he is also survived by his five grandsons and their spouses; Caleb Isenhour, Mason and Makinley Isenhour, Gage and Cloey Starnes, Hayden and Jaelyn Isenhour, Jacob Foxx Rodriguez, and his only great grandson Gray Beckham Starnes. Gary was a beloved son, brother, father, confidant and friend, and he will be deeply missed by many.

The graveside funeral service will take place Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Cemetery of Cedar Valley United Methodist Church presided by Pastor Chris Helderman.

The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM that same day, Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.
