Gayle Melton Dancy, 90, of 406 Wedgewood PL SE, Lenoir, NC passed away peacefully at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

She was born March 20, 1934, in Caldwell County to the late William Eugene Melton and Beulah (Pressler) Melton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Alfred Francis Dancy Jr. and one sister, Drue Ennis.

Mrs. Dancy was employed at Smith Stevens and Ford CPA for many years until her retirement. She was also in fellowship at the Hickory Gospel Hall for many years.

Gayle is survived by one sister, Charlene Hemrick, her three children; Suzanne Dancy of Lenoir, David Dancy and his wife Rebekah of Hickory, Jill (Dancy) Camarra and her husband Timothy of Worcester, MA. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Timothy Camarra III, Arianna, Lukas, and Joseph Dancy.

A viewing will be held at Greer McElveen Funeral home in Lenoir on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from  1:00 to 2:00 P.M., with a graveside service immediately following at Blue Ridge Memorial Park 2017 Wilkesboro Blvd, Lenoir, NC 28645 with Joseph Camarra and Timothy Camarra Jr. officiating.
