Georgia Sue Crump, age 87, of Miller Hill Road, Lenoir, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026 at UNC Healthcare.

She was born May 7, 1939 in Caldwell County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Conard and Margaret Roland Crump, sister, Rita Crump Atwood, and great nephew, Benjamin Crump.

Survivors include one brother, Thomas Crump (Marilyn), one sister, Nancy Crump (Kevin Helton) both of Lenoir, two nephews, Tommy Crump (Mendy) of Lenoir and Rylan Crump of Iverness Florida, two nieces, Angela Atwood and Hailey Crump of Lenoir, two great nephews, Carson and Aaron Crump of Lenoir, and two great nieces, Natalie Brittain of Charlotte and Lauren Brittain of Lenoir.

Ms. Crump was retired from Broyhill Furniture Industries Main Office, Dealer Services Department. In addition, she was employed at Holiday Foods #3, Sears Retail, and conducted Christmas Around the World home parties. She was a long standing member of Gamewell United Methodist Church and was previously an active member of the Women's Society.

Ms. Crump enjoyed playing cards, ball room dancing, and traveling. She also played on a women's softball team in the 1950s and was a member of the Lenoir Women's Bowling League. She was an avid Pittsburg Steelers Fan.

A funeral service to honor the life of Georgia Crump will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 2:00PM at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Walter Lundy officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Kanupp, Barry Triplett, Kevin Helton, Jaxson Poteet, Dylan Davenport, and Isaac Griffith.
