Obituary

Gladys Darlene Bentley, 74, of Lenoir, North Carolina went home to her Heavenly Father on January 14, 2026.

Born November 8, 1951 in Gaston County to the late William Lawton Lowe and Gladys Hester Franklin Lowe.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Sisters, Barbara Price, Anna Pope, Helen Matheson, Juanita Lowe, and Clara Anderson; Brother, James Lowe; Son, David Phillip Bentley; and Daughter, Lorrie Ann Kincaid.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 57 years, David C. Bentley; her son, Kenneth E Bentley and his wife Heather; her sister, Marla Greer and her husband Larry; and her grandchildren, Kenneth Bentley, Travis Bentley and wife Alexus, Evan Bentley, Kensleigh Killian, Matthew Poarch, Joshua Poarch, Amanda Poarch, Kaitlyn Coiner, Lonnie Bentley, and Kristen Bentley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Darlene worked at Lenoir Furniture Corporation for numerous years.  She then worked for Wal-Mart in Granite Falls.  She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church where she loved everyone and was cherished by all who knew her.  She will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family and friends and the many lives she touched.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Harrisburg Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Harris Officiating.  Family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M.  Burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers include: Kenneth Bentley, Travis Bentley, Evan Bentley, Trent Price, AJ Sanders, Jarrett Greene, Ron Gill.

In lieu of flowers Darlene and her family request donations be made to the McCreary Cancer Center, 212 Mulberry St SW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
