Gloria Triplett Southard, age 81, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Magnolia Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 23, 1945 in Callaway, Maryland to the late Gurnie R. Triplett and Reba Joan Miller Triplett. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Burl Southard, Jr.; one son, Ryan Southard; and one brother, Cooper Triplett.

Those left to cherish her memory include sister, Angela Hinesley and husband Eric; one grandson, Maddox Southard; nieces, Rebecca Allen and husband Rusty, Angela Moore, and Melonie Keen; nephew, Kevin Goodman; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Crisp officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
