On February 16, 2024, Grover Junior Turner, 86, of Lenoir, Left his mortal body behind and took his heavenly flight after a lengthy illness.

Grover was born on December 10, 1937, to Grover Franklin Turner and Dolly Turner Huffman in Burke County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack S. Turner, a sister Vivian Turner Biddix, and an infant son, Dennis Scott Turner.

Grover is survived by his loving wife of 67 1/2 years, Shelba Annas Turner, of the home; daughters, Angela Turner Younce (Roger) of Graham, NC and Cynthia Turner Stevenson(Scott) of Fairhope Alabama. Sons: Jerry Turner (Karon) of Claremont; Kevin Turner (Carolyn) of Hickory; and Kelly Turner(Tamara) of Granite Falls; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy F Turner of Hendersonville; sisters; Veneta Honeycutt (Tony) of Burnsville, Virginia Lindner, (Arnold) of Newark, Ohio and Verda Ramsey (Max) of Hickory; and several nieces and nephews.

Grover was the owner and operator of Carolina Roof Systems of Caldwell County until his retirement. His hobby was bee-keeping and was known fondly as the "Honey Man".

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Pastor Casey Fenn officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
