Havard "Pooty Dean" Oliver, age 84, of Lenoir, North Carolina, went to his Heavenly home on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Havard was born on March 5, 1941 in Watauga County, North Carolina to the late Roby and Dorothy Oliver.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Edward Buddy Oliver and sisters, Betty Oliver Greer and Lona Lawrence,

Those left to cherish his memory include, his wife of 64 years, Nancy Ann Greene Oliver; son, Robbie Oliver; daughters, Donna Greene and husband Albert, Kim Curtis and husband Mike, and Renae Watson and husband, Harold; brothers, Alfred Tate Oliver and Garlund Burl Oliver; sister, Marlene Triplett; grandchildren, Tinucha Oliver, Justine Oliver, Adam Greene, Jonathan Greene, Cody Greene, Tyler Greene, Quentin Watson, Christie Watson, Joe Watson, and Hayleigh Watson; 19 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Havard was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved the Lord, and he loved his family. Havard was a brick mason by trade. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service to honor the life of Havard Oliver will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 2:00PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Reverends Brent Dula and Bryan Davis officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow the service at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Adam Greene, Jonathan Greene, Quentin Watson, Tyler Greene, Anthony Cohee, and Nate Cohee.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Skylar Watson and Jake Prestwood.
