Hazel Elizabeth Parks Sparks, age 87, of Hudson passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025 at UNC Health Blue Ridge. She was born May 12, 1938 in McDowell County, West Virginia to the late Fred and Hazel Dean Parks. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Catherine Edmonds; sisters, Joan Miller and Zina Miller; one son, Michael Lee Parks; one brother, Garnet Parks; and one granddaughter, Heather Heavner.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Charles Sparks; daughters, Debbie Evans (Tom) of Clover, SC, Cindy Mullins (Cecil) of Pulaski, VA; and Kristina Fox (Steve) of Bluefield, VA; brothers, John Parks, and Ted Parks; sisters, Teresa Anstine and Jean Ellison; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
