Howard "Gene" Hedrick, age 90, took the hand of Jesus and stepped into his Heavenly home wo rejoin the love of his life, Lu, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Gene was born on April 9, 1934 in Caldwell County to the late Leonard and Effie Hedrick.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Lucille "Lu" Hedrick; infant son, Cory Lane Hedrick; brothers, Ernest Hedrick, Melvin Hedrick, Albert Hedrick, and T.D. Hedrick; and sisters, Christine Walker and Betty Duffey.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Jody Hedrick and wife Martha; daughter, Julie Raper and husband Eddie; brother, Clay Hedrick and wife Rema; sisters-in-law, Emily Hedrick, wife of T.D, and Annie Hedrick, wife of Ernest) grandchildren, Christopher Raper and wife Katelyn, Lindsey Killian and husband Nick, and Curtis Gene Hedrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gene served proudly in the United States Army earning a good conduct medal. He worked as a purchasing agent for Singer Furniture for many years.  Gene was well known in the King's Creek Community. He was an inventor and all around fix-it-man for many. He was an avid gardener and walker.

A graveside service to honor the life of Gene Hedrick will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11am at Kings Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Randy Goode officiating. Parking will be available across the road from the cemetery at the church.

The family will receive visitors from 9:45am-10:45am at the funeral home prior to the service.
