Ina Mae Mitchell, age 88, of Lenoir departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at her home. She was born November 29, 1935 in Wyoming County, West Virginia to the late William Franklin Mitchell and Annie Isbell Mitchell. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, William D. Mitchell, George A. Mitchell, and Joseph J. Mitchell.

At an early age Mrs. Mitchell accepted Christ. She was a life time member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Helen, West Virginia.  She was the guardian angel over Frank Mitchell's Family. She was a very calm, gentle, loving person and slow to anger nothing like her sister Barbara. That's what her teacher used to tell her. She did all the cooking for the family's special occasions.

Those left surviving include her only sister, Barbara Mitchell Glover; nieces and nephews, Joseph James Mitchell, Jr., Randall Mitchell, Danny Mitchell, Rodriguez Mitchell, Sheri Mitchell, and Ann Mitchell; and a host of relatives and friends to cherish her loving memory.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024  at 11:00 A.M. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. James Wilfong officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews and cousins, flower bearers will be her cousins, and honorary pallbearers will be George Isbell, Michael Isbell, Harold Isbell, and Hardy Hendrix.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.
