James Cloyd Fox, age 81, of Granite Falls passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at his residence. He was born April 1, 1944 in Caldwell County to the late Cloyd Fox and Mary Pennell Fox. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Bill Fox; and one sister, Peggy Burns.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Austin Fox; two sons, Jamie Fox (Michelle) and Justin Fox (Tierra); one brother, Greg Fox (Patricia); one sister, Denise Lackey (Wayne); one brother-in-law, Perry Lee Austin (Linda); one sister-in-law, Joann Austin Pennell (Larry); three grandchildren, James Austin Fox; Alexis Fox (Chase), and Jaelyn Fox Price (Josh); two step-grandchildren, Kristen Brown Hood and Chastity Brown; one step-great-grandchild, Jielle Hood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Bethel Advent Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Don Keyes officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Fox, Justin Fox, Josh Price, Austin Fox, Kirk Austin, and Joseph Brown.

The family will receive friends prior to the graveside from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.
